Is Spotify the Google of Audio?

Welcome back! Over the last few days, Investment Ideas has reached just over 1000 subscribers (1,020 today, to be precise). It´s a big milestone for the community and I am both grateful and excited for what´s to come.

My original Spotify deep dive sparked some discussion with @amitinvesting recently and @investWithVinny had the idea of running a debate between us two, with me on the affirmative (Spotify is indeed the Google of audio in the making) and Amit on the negative.

It was great fun, I learned a lot from Amit and I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed recording it. Needless to say, I am looking forward to hearing everyone´s thoughts on the debate.

As a side note, I am getting ready to double the number of $SPOT shares that I own and the debate has helped me advance my conviction. Amit has been a great sparring partner on this occasion and I only wish I had more like him. I love hearing thoughts that counter my investment ideas, when well constructed.

Finally, we have Q1 2022 earnings coming up tomorrow. I will be covering the ER as usual. I continue to believe the market (people) is subconsciously looking for a way to grieve the pandemic (read my piece “What´s Really Happening in the Markets”), so any non-pristine news is likely to lead to a continuation of the sell off we are experiencing.
